Together, John and Jan Cartwright have created a gold-standard business that has withstood the test of time. As founders of Financial Network Investment Corporation in 1983 — now known as Cetera Advisor Networks, LLC — they have cultivated a successful bedrock for wealth management services and affiliate advisors.
Both Co-Regional Directors, John and Jan are responsible for the management and oversight of the firm, ensuring it continues to grow and last for generations to come. The pair have mentored and groomed hundreds of successful financial advisors, for many of whom financial services is a second career.
For more than 50 years, John has also maintained a thriving financial advisory practice and continues to serve multiple generations of clients with sound financial advice and first-class service. He is passionate about delivering premier financial planning services to clients to help them get to where they want to be and create a long-lasting legacy.
Before joining the financial services industry, John was a dedicated leader in the U.S. Army as an officer and a pilot. Previously, Jan worked with Proctor and Gamble and as a teacher. The couple met at the University of Wisconsin where they also received their degrees.
Celebrating more than 50 years as a happy couple, Jan and John have raised three smart, successful daughters who are all co-owners of CLG. Outside of work, John and Jan enjoy many hours with their eight beautiful grandchildren and are active members of the Pauma Valley Country Club and the National Charity League.
Pamela Eckenrode, CRC ®, PPC TM
With over 22 years in the financial services industry, Pam’s experience, integrity and commitment make her an exceptional partner and advisor to her clients and a knowledgeable mentor and resource to other financial advisors.
Working closely with clients such as retirees, executives, small business owners and women in transition, Pam uncovers solutions for their success both financially and personally. She helps her clients identify the most important things in their lives and their families’ lives and works with them to develop creative and comprehensive strategies to help achieve those goals.
Pam’s experience as an advisor is invaluable in guiding and mentoring other advisors, who she works with to help take their business to the next level; whether they want to grow, optimize value or prepare for succession. By helping advisors create efficiencies within their practice, Pam helps grow their businesses and position them for long-term success.
Working in the financial services industry since 1995, Pam has also served as an OSJ Branch Manager and Regional Manager with Financial Network. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts, as well as minors in both Communications and Journalism at the University of Arizona. Pam holds her Series 7, 63, 51, 24 and insurance licenses, and is registered in 46 states. She also attained her Certified Retirement Counselor and Professional Plan Consultant certifications.
Outside of work, Pam enjoys time with her husband Todd and their three kids, Jack, Kate and Will. She likes traveling, playing golf and watching her kids’ soccer, baseball and football games. She is an active member of the community through PTA, Girl Scouts, and the Long Beach Yacht Club.
Kurt R. Ehmann, PPCTM
Kurt’s true passion is to help individuals and businesses realize their ongoing potential so they can become sustainable high performers in business and life. Through his experience in preparation and planning, Kurt enhances the wealth, business and life experiences of those he works with.
As Co-Owner and Head of Business Development at CLG, Kurt helps advisors create efficiencies in their businesses and successfully grow their practices. He also helps individual clients set up and sustain wealth for today and future generations.
Before becoming a financial planner, Kurt had a prominent career as an All-Pacific-10 shortstop at Arizona State University and was a top-draft choice by the San Francisco Giants Organization in 1992 before he retired in 1997 because of an injury. The experience of a high-performing athlete drives Kurt’s passion today for helping a range of individuals realize their potential in every stage of their lives. Focusing on retirees, executives and athletes, Kurt acts as his clients’ “quarterback” to help them meet their financial goals and objectives.
Kurt received his Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University. He currently holds his Professional Plan Consultant designation and is securities registered (holding a Series 7, 66 and 63) as well as insurance licensed in California for life, health, disability and long-term care.
Outside of the office when he’s not focused on clients, Kurt is very involved in youth sports and currently coaches both of his boys in baseball and football. Kurt says his fortune is his wife Sarah and two incredible sons, Jake and Owen. His family continues to raise assets through their children’s sports endeavors and donate to local pediatric hospitals and children in need.
Sarah C. Ehmann
As Co-Owner and Head of Client Service and Operations at CLG, Sarah is dedicated to making the advisor and client experience top-notch. Through focused training and creative development programs for CLG’s advisor network, and overseeing the Gardena branch operations, Sarah is committed to a high-touch level of service, efficient business processing and the education needed to stay current with a plethora of product solutions combined with a changing economic landscape.
With financial planning and investment advisory experience dating back to 1998, Sarah has served in various roles including OSJ Branch Manager, Financial Advisor and as the Manager of the Financial Institution Division at Financial Network Investment Corporation, helping financial institutions and their financial advisors grow their businesses.
Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She currently holds her Series 7, 24, 63, 65, and 51 registrations and CA Life & Health Insurance license.
When she’s not working with advisors to grow their businesses, Sarah is involved with the Long Beach Little League, AYSO and PTA. She is also a member of the Long Beach Yacht Club. Sarah lives with her husband Kurt in Long Beach and her greatest success — that of a devoted mother — is embodied in their two adorable sons, Jake and Owen.
Elizabeth C. Carr
Navigating today’s regulatory environment is challenging, but CLG takes the guesswork out with Beth providing commonsense advice that gives clarity to compliance. A CLG Co-Owner and Chief Compliance Officer, Beth offers objective guidance and clear direction to advisors to ensure that their businesses are compliant.
With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Beth employs supervision systems that enhance operational efficiency by simplifying many compliance and regulatory tasks with CLG’s advanced technology platform.
Beth’s experience covers many facets of the financial services industry, ranging from Pension Specialist at a mutual fund company to Investment Advisor, Sales Manager and OSJ Manager at Cetera Advisor Networks, LLC. Previously, Beth was instrumental in building the Financial Institution Division of the Financial Network Investment Corporation, which partnered with banks and credit unions, providing full-service investment programs and services to their clientele.
Beth holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis and her Series 7, 24, 63, and 51 registrations.
Outside of CLG, Beth is incredibly involved in her community, volunteering with local PTAs, booster clubs and the National Charity League. She also supports local kids’ sports such as cross-country and track, soccer and baseball at the middle, high school and club levels. Beth resides in Palos Verdes with her husband Marshall and their three beautiful children.
Jerry Mitchell
Jerry’s specialty is providing top-notch service to his clients. Working closely within the CLG team, he helps individual clients find and sustain their wealth and family legacy. Jerry works with clients from many backgrounds including executives, retirees and small business owners, to evaluate and understand their unique circumstances, goals and aspirations. He then helps create customized financial plans that are designed to specifically meet individual needs and dreams.
Before joining CLG, Jerry played Division I baseball at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. As a team captain, he led the team to regular and post season conference championships within the Big East and Missouri Valley conferences and appeared in two NCAA tournaments. While in high school, he was an American Legion National Champion and won four Nevada AAAA State Championships for Bishop Gorman High School. Jerry enjoys watching sports in his spare time and is a die hard Notre Dame football fan. Since he has moved to Southern California, he enjoys surfing and practicing his golf swing.
Jerry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Planning and Marketing while at Creighton. While balancing life as a student-athlete with a demanding schedule, he also interned with AXA Insurance gaining invaluable industry experience. Jerry was part of the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska and earned the 2012 CFP® Scholarship. After graduating in 2014, he started with CLG in October 2014 and is an essential part of the team. He has obtained his Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations and passed the CFP® test in March 2016.
Outside of his work with CLG, Jerry volunteers with the Long Beach Little League and has helped coach the team to two Long Beach Little League championships. He values giving back to the community by not only helping coach his team to be better baseball players, but also encouraging them to learn valuable life lessons through sports.
Joy Oh
Joy is a passionate team player who creates a stellar experience for CLG’s clients. As a wealth management associate, she assists the regional book of business and any matters concerning paraplanning, operations, and administration. Her knowledge, creativity and commitment are attractive additions to the CLG team.
Always providing the best customer service with a smile, Joy specializes in working with retirees, beneficiaries and high-net-worth individuals on insurance, estate, financial and tax planning. Before CLG, Joy spent time in the retirement planning space at AXA Advisors Retirement Benefits Group. She has also served at PlanMember, an independent broker-dealer.
Joy earned a dual Bachelor of Philosophy and International Relations from the University of California, Irvine. She later went on to earn her Master of Politics from the London Metropolitan University. Joy is now pursuing her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification at the Wharton School of Business, which she recently obtained in September of 2016. Joy is currently registered with a Series 7 and 66.
When Joy is not providing her clients with excellence in wealth management, she is participating in several foreign language groups which are dedicated to creating multicultural experiences.
Lynda Reynoso
When it comes to sales, training, and business development, Lynda is a great leader and gifted negotiator. Her diverse blend of finance, marketing, and communications make her a triple threat when it comes to navigating the world of financial services and helping to develop business potential.
As Sales and Business Development Manager at CLG, Lynda provides high-level business development solutions to affiliate advisors and their teams. She consistently delivers high-quality education and planning in development, marketing and recruiting. She is committed to leveraging resources and technology, increasing efficiencies in practice management, advising on business goals, and promoting business growth.
Lynda brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, serving in a variety of executive positions. Prior to joining CLG, Lynda was a partner at Gainsborough Financial Consultants, Inc., an independent investment advisory firm (RIA), and instrumental in its acquisition and merger with Cooper McManus in 2010. She has spent 20 years working in the entertainment industry and is a longtime member of the Screen Actors Guild and the Hollywood Film Society.
Lynda is an active leader, advocate, and volunteer for both the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Los Angeles and the FPA of California. She meets regularly with members of local and state government to bring attention to regulatory and legislative issues affecting consumers and the financial planning profession.
Lynda earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology of Law and Spanish Linguistics from the University of California, Davis. She earned a graduate certificate in Personal Financial Planning (PFP) from the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds Series 7 and 66 registrations.
Viky Salazar
As Client Service Manager, Viky is the key to CLG’s unparalleled client service experience. With extreme attention to detail and laser-focus dedication, Viky supports the regional office by educating and training advisors, and serving as their liaison. Her experience lies in working with advisors to provide actionable plans that help create greater efficiency, higher productivity and an increased level of client service.
Working directly with the head of compliance to support CLG’s compliance practices, Viky is responsible for ensuring proactive policies and procedures are in place so affiliated offices can operate as efficiently as possible. Her extensive experience in client relationship management allows her to ensure a smooth back-office experience as well.
Viky has more than 20 years of experience in financial services. She began her career as an Administrative Assistant and has held various positions including Operations Manager, Chief Compliance Manager and Administrative Manager for both RIA’s and major broker-dealers. Viky is currently registered with a Series 7 and 66. She is bilingual in Spanish.
Viky is a perpetual student of the industry and is passionate about continuing to learn and grow her knowledge and experience.
